When Curtis Powers contacted KCEOC Career Advisor, Emily Devers, interested in the Paths to Promise program he knew that he wanted to take this opportunity and make the best of it. After his one on one career counseling session and contemplating his interests, he decided that he would attend training to obtain his CDL. With the help of his career advisor he knew that successfully completing CDL training would help to ensure that he could acquire stable employment.
With the help of his career advisor and the supportive services offered through the program that KCEOC offers; in a little over one month he had successfully completed his training and had his Class A CDL. Shortly afterward he obtained full time employment with Western Express out of Nashville, Tennessee. He works hard every week but he now earns self-sustaining income.
Curtis says “The Paths to Promise program changed my life, I was able to get my training and employment in less than 2 months and I couldn’t have done it without KCEOC.”
